Help your community or company be Mental Wellbeing ready

How comfortable are you with identifying signs of mental illnesses and assisting someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use problem, or someone who may be in crisis? Join our Mental Health First Aid class to learn and practice ways to support our community members in need.

You will learn

  • How to recognize mental health issues before they become more serious, promote and enhance recovery, and provide comfort and support.
  • How to provide first aid to adults experiencing a mental health crisis, and preserve life when someone may be a danger to themselves or others.
  • Alternatives to calling 911, which in some instances can exacerbate a crisis situation.
  • Self care for you!

Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based training that teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond with empathy to someone who is experiencing a mental health or substance-use problem. A First Aider's increased mental health literacy enables them to help people in emotional crisis and non-crisis situations.
